I spent this week running around in some pretty perfect pieces a la one of my fave fashion brands: NA-KD
Here are a few new(ish) restaurants to check out this Spring + Summer around LA with insta-worthy interiors, drool-worthy menus, and of course the outfits I wore to each spot:
SWEET CHICK x THE ARMY JACKET:
This NYC staple finally made its way to Fairfax Ave and you can find me eating dinner there…pretty much once a week. The whole place is everything – think southern rustic meets city appeal; neon pink signs, a balanced mix of different wood, the right throwback hip-hop playlist (thanks Nas), and mason-jar-candlelit tables with fresh daisies – kind of a lot mixed into one but effortlessly hip. Fried chicken + waffles? Yes, please — I basically inhaled the apples ‘n cinnamon batter + hot honey. The ‘Sweet Chick’ watermelon cocktail is the first on the drink menu, and my drink of choice here (sub the Vodka for Casamigos though, obviously). Also died over the actually functioning sliding ladder at the bar. I’ve been wanting to incorporate one of these into one of my designs for as long as I can remember! Perfect spot to meet up with friends on a Friday.
THIS army jacket has gotten so many compliments (from both ladies and guys) — it’s so versatile, day or night, denim shorts or leather pants, heels or sneakers.
KISMET x THE NUDE LIGHTWEIGHT TRENCH: One of the best places to eat in Los Angeles, hands down! Literally everything on the menu is worth every bite, and not horrendously unhealthy so order it all. It’s American meets Middle Eastern, so lots of tahini, polena, flaky bread, fresh veggies. I’m game for lunch or dinner here since it’s a great day or night option, and it’s intimate enough to hear who’s across from you. Small but perfect use of the space, very clean + modern lightwood lines with a touch of warmth (good job in the details and lighting, guys). The location is also refreshing since it’s in a rejunctified area close to Los Feliz – something different than a lot of the LA hot spots.
I turned my day-fit into an early dinner eve-fit with a simple pair of heels and this perfect lightweight trench. Honestly, I’d probably walk around in this piece every day + night if I could.
THE BUTCHER’S DAUGHTER x THE BACKLESS BUTTON-DOWN: The quintessential West Side beachy eatery — vegan, gluten-free, and very trendy, nutritious food. Everything is served on beautiful wooden platters — picture avocado toast eggs benedict, matte lattes, seasonal fruit Prosecco-mimosas and THE cutest seating arrangements to enjoy it all! This is arguably one of the cutest restaurant interiors overall, again v trendy, but bright and modern in the same breath as Earthy. OR if you’re shopping around Abbot Kinney and want a quick pressed juice or coffee, you can take in a pinch of this place through the lil’ storefront to-go window — OH HI MORE CUTENESS. Highly recommend when you’re in the Venice area (or as I like to refer to it, thanks to LA traffic: AKA the other side of the world)!
How cute is this open-back button down? Clearly business in the front, lil’ party in the back!? Just my style.
